The First Leadership Debate: Angry Dog Vs Boiled Lobster Vs Cheeky Tortoise

The Prime ministerial debate or leadership debate of the season and this election took place in ITV last night.

Contrary to most commentators, my view was that Cameron looked jittery and nervous, Brown arrogant and blustery while Clegg came across as a sauve and thoughtful individual.

Cameron was looking like a boiled lobster to be honest and did not show the confidence of the PM in waiting nor did he come across with assurance in some of the key issues debated.

Brown was over the top in terms of aggression and he seemed more like a bull dog chewing his chops as his jowls danced away to glory. He seemed more in stress than come across as the assured and exprienced minister that he is.

Nick Clegg was the best of the lot. He is coming across as the true third alternate to the big guns and seems to have answers. Though there were a few issues like Policing and Education where he did not have full answers.

Let us wait for the next couple of debates before making a call and it would be great for British politics if the LD win with their first full majority in the parliament riding on the back of the modest and careful Clegg.. As the saying goes, Tortoises do win!
