Another Decade comes to an end..

When one looks back on the decade completed, what comes to mind is not much of positivity. Terrorism, Natural Disasters, War, Recession and Financial markets collapse are some of the key things that took place in the last 10 years and each had its own impact on the way we look at ourselves and the society we live in..

But, one needs to look not far for the positivity to come out.. The Beijing Olympics showcased the success of the emerging giant in China. The growth of the Blogosphere was a seismic change in terms of communications and spread of the word..Lula Presidency in Brazil which has enabled a comprehensive turn around of the Brazilian Economy and lifestyle. Success of the Indian Cricket Team and the Phenomenon called Sachin Tendulkar..Brings smiles to zillions of Indians and cricket lovers worldwide.

As a born Indian, I feel despondent and disappointed when I see India still mired in corruption of collosal scope and lack of transparency in all spheres of public life..The endemic cancer that continues to gnaw away at all the success the country achieves in IT, Sports and Intellectual Export..And as a naturalised British citizen, it hurts to see the decay in British society from various drivers and the loss of the good old world courtesy and charm. Education is in dire straits in UK and Value systems are collapsing at a rapid pace.

Personally yet another decade comes to an end leading me once again to sit down to Introspect and learn from it.. It frustrates me to know that I still cannot learn to "Not Respond".. I have had a great 10 years, Marriage and over 5 years in a great company succeeding at a professional level. There have been ups and downs like in everyone's life but have come through it still intact.. Hope the next Decade is more successful and peaceful with a lot more of intellectual growth. And some global travelling to see a few more wonders before my time comes up.

Got in touch with some old friends and established connection again.. Made some great new friends who have been the bedrock of my stability over the last few years..All in all a decent Decade indeed. Thank you..
